Blank hierarchy
A root and two branches for your own topic. Rename the labels and grow the tree.

Give each node a label and choose its parent. One root, up to 50 nodes and 10 levels. Long labels are shortened in the drawing; the full text remains in the node editor and chart description.
Paste or upload three columns: ID, Label, Parent ID. IDs must be unique. Leave Parent ID blank for exactly one root. Importing replaces the tree after confirmation.

Use classification tree templateDecision outlines show choices as node labels. These templates do not calculate probabilities or model multiple-parent family relationships.
Preview a blank hierarchy, project plan, organization chart, decision outline, website structure, or classification tree. Choose a template to open a new diagram. Your previous work stays in My diagrams. The diagram fits into view automatically; edit the root and its children to make it your own.
Click a node to edit its label, or use the labeled fields in Edit data. Use Add child to grow the tree and the Parent dropdown to move a branch. Keep exactly one root.
Choose a direction and color in Customize. Drag to pan, use + and − to zoom, or choose Fit to view. Download the whole diagram as PNG or SVG, or save a project backup.
A tree diagram shows how items branch from one root. Also called a tree graph or tree chart, it makes a hierarchy visible with connected nodes. Each remaining node has exactly one parent, so you can trace a unique path from the root to any item. Use it to organize a topic, break down a project, or explain a classification.
This tree diagram maker arranges the branches automatically. It supports one root, up to 50 nodes, and 10 levels. Labels can contain up to 80 characters; long labels are shortened in the drawing and remain available in the editor and text description.
This tool draws simple hierarchies. It does not calculate branch probabilities, train machine-learning decision trees, or model spouses and multiple parents in a genealogy.
Use unique IDs for relationships. The root has no Parent ID. Labels can repeat because parents reference IDs, not display names.

Choose the tool that matches what you want to explain.
Use a tree for project breakdowns, categories, website sections, or reporting hierarchies where each item has one parent.
Use a bar graph when you have numeric values for categories. Tree branches show structure rather than the size of a measurement.
Start with one root and organize its branches.
Split a project into phases, tasks, and subtasks.
Arrange products, lessons, or subjects into a classification hierarchy.
Show one reporting parent per team or role. Use labels for role names rather than complex personnel records.
Six original starting points load real nodes into the editor. Change the labels and parent relationships to make each template your own.
Click any node to edit its label. Connections and spacing update when you add children or change a parent.
Drag the canvas to explore branches, zoom in for readable labels, and use Fit to view to see the whole tree. Choose left-to-right or top-to-bottom layout in Customize.
The tool checks unique IDs, missing parents, multiple roots, cycles, and supported size limits before drawing.
Paste or upload CSV and Excel tables with ID, Label, and Parent ID columns through Import or edit a table.
Keep separate drafts in My diagrams. Remember my diagrams on this device saves them in this browser; uncheck it for session-only editing. Download a project backup to move work to another browser.
Download the entire tree diagram with no watermark. SVG preserves vector lines and text.
Parent–child relationships, imports, downloads, and supported limits.
Choose a template from the gallery or the Tree template selector to open a new diagram. Your current diagram remains available in My diagrams. Edit labels and choose a parent for each node. The tree diagram generator arranges the branches automatically. Export PNG, SVG, or a project backup when ready.
Tree chart, tree diagram, and tree graph often describe the same branching hierarchy. This tool creates connected parent–child nodes. It does not create treemaps with nested rectangles or draw botanical trees.
Yes. Use Add child and the Parent dropdown to draw a tree diagram through its relationships. The creator handles placement and connecting lines. Manual freehand drawing is not required.
Yes. Create and download PNG and SVG tree diagrams without signup or a watermark.
Open Import or edit a table. Use three columns in this order: ID, Label, Parent ID. Each ID must be unique and every parent must reference an existing ID. Leave Parent ID blank for exactly one root. Imports replace the current tree after confirmation.
A tree graph draws nodes connected by branches. A treemap uses nested rectangles whose areas usually represent numeric values. This tool creates branching node diagrams, not treemaps.
You can label branches as choices by naming their child nodes. This version does not support edge labels, probability multiplication, expected-value calculations, or machine-learning model training.
Only a simple one-parent hierarchy. Family trees with couples, multiple parents, photos, or genealogy records need a dedicated genealogy tool.
The tool asks you to confirm removal of the selected node and all its descendants. Download a project backup first if you want to keep a copy.
Tree editing, validation, saving, and downloads happen in your browser. Local projects can be lost when browser storage is cleared; download a project backup for safekeeping.
