Use equations for formulas
Enter a mathematical rule when you want the tool to calculate the curve, such as a parabola or sine wave.
Enter an equation and plot its curve directly. Compare up to eight functions, adjust the coordinate plane, and download your graph as PNG or SVG.

Enter y = f(x). Use x, pi, e, + − * / ^, parentheses, sin, cos, tan, sqrt, abs, ln, log or log10. ln and log mean natural logarithm.

Type y = 2x + 3, y = x², or sin(x). Add more equations to compare their curves.
Open Customize to adjust bounds, zoom, pan, grid spacing and colors. Reset axes to return to the initial view.
Export PNG or SVG after the graph finishes calculating, or print the graph.
An equation graph maker calculates points from an expression of the form y = f(x), then draws the curve on numeric X and Y axes. You do not need to calculate a table first.
This tool supports arithmetic, powers, parentheses and common real-valued functions. It samples the visible X range and leaves gaps where values are undefined or a segment cannot be resolved within its sampling limit.
For y = 2x + 3, these known values lie on the plotted line.

Supported expressions, graph accuracy and local saving.
Explicit functions y = f(x), such as y = 2x + 3, x^2 - 4, and sin(x). Implicit equations, inequalities, parametric plots and symbolic solving are not supported.
Use +, -, *, /, ^, parentheses, x, pi, e, sin, cos, tan, sqrt, abs, exp, ln, log and log10. Implicit multiplication such as 2x and superscripts ² and ³ are supported. Trigonometry uses radians; ln and log are natural logarithms.
Some functions are undefined in parts of their domain, such as 1/x at zero or sqrt(x) for negative X. The tool also leaves gaps when it reaches its sampling limit instead of connecting uncertain segments.
No. Equation calculation and local saving happen in your browser. Export a project file if you need a portable backup.
